Chelsea and Manchester United are in talks over a potential swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling. However, Juventus have reached a broad agreement with United over a loan with an option to buy Sancho, which may affect the swap deal. Sterling is not in Chelsea's first-team plans, and the club is looking to offload him before the transfer window closes. United are cautious about signing Sterling due to his high wages, but he is open to joining the club. The situation is fluid, and negotiations are ongoing.
Sterling is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before Friday's transfer deadline, having been frozen out of the squad by Enzo Maresca and stripped of the number seven shirt following Pedro Neto's arrival. United are in talks with Juventus over a possible deal for Sancho, who has yet to play in the Premier League this season. Sancho's fall out with manager Erik ten Hag last year led to his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in the second half of last season.
United now value Sancho at £40million, although the club are considering using him as part of a swap deal in exchange for Sterling. However, sporting chief Dan Ashworth will only sanction such a proposal if the deal is right for his club.
