Chelsea have been linked with another option this summer, and Enzo Maresca is relentless in making more deals happen as they look to Manchester City for another player who could play like Cole Palmer.
According to Football London, Chelsea are in talks of signing another prolific option this summer who could follow Cole Palmer’s step down to West London, with reports claiming that Manchester City is willing to give in to the deal since he is not part of the long-term contract.
Oscar Bobb, City’s academy graduate, had been a perfect addition to Pep Guadiola’s squad last season, recording many outstanding performances just like Chelsea’s Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer joined Mauricio Pochetinno’s squad last season and was able to prove to be a very important addition, netting 25 goals in all competitions. Recently, he has received a lot of awards following his impressive performance at West London, where he was included as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for England.
Just like Palmer Oscar Bobb, who has scored twice for Norway, he has made only 26 appearances for Manchester City. At 21, the same age Palmer was when he moved to London, Chelsea could do far worse than investing in Bobb to bolster Maresca’s options in attack.
“Chelsea believe they might have an opportunity to land Bobb if he doesn’t play as much as he wants to in pre-season and doesn’t feel he is going to get the chances at City. Bobb is very much a ‘Joe Shields target’ if you like, with The Blues director rating him highly.”
Chelsea are in a serious quest for a new striker, possibly a new number 9, and Bobb has proven to suit the position amid Pep Guadiola’s willingness to give in for a possible move for the player since he won’t be given a lot of chances to feature in the senior squad.
Enzo Maresca may need to bolster his striker progress, and adding Oscar Bobb could salvage so many issues as the player is reportedly playing football like Cole Palmer.
