Chelsea have made another effort to land another prolific goal scorer this season as they agreed personal terms with him amid official agreements from both clubs.

With the signing of Estevao Willian from Palmeiras, Chelsea may look again into the Brazilian team to seal another deal as Enzo Maresca makes an effort for a new left winger.

Earlier this week, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that Chelsea had opened talks to sign Gabriel Mec.

Since then, it looks like the Blues have made quite a bit of progress in their bid to land the attacking midfielder.

According to Romano, Chelsea are now confident that they can sign Mec from Gremio, with the 16-year-old keen on joining the club.

On X, Romano posted: “Chelsea have presented their project to Brazilian talent Gabriel Mec, and they’re confident they can make the deal happen.

“Negotiations are underway with both Gremio and the 2008-born talent’s camp, keen on joining Chelsea.”

It is really not a surprise to hear that Mec is keen to join Chelsea. While things have not exactly gone to plan for the club yet since they were taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, it is still a bit of an exciting project that they have got going on.

The Blues have signed a lot of young and talented players, with a lot of them coming from Mec’s homeland, Brazil.

That obviously includes Estevao, as well as the likes of David Washington and Andrey Santos. Seeing so many of his compatriots sign for Chelsea has probably also enticed Mec.

You would expect the Blues to complete a deal soon and add yet another young Brazilian to their ranks.
